As more and more families choose to have Eagars create a beautiful funeral, we are growing and looking for someone exceptional to join our team.
You are the type of person who strives for perfection. You feel rewarded when told "that was perfect - thank you!". You understand that with funerals there are no dress rehersals so everything must be right first time - every time.
Being a funeral director is a calling. We can work long - and odd! - hours so flexibilty is a must. This is not a clock in, clock out profession.
Time management is critical. Everything we do is done with the end goal in mind - the funeral. Once the day and time is set it is our job to ensure everything is ready. There are no extensions and families deservedly have high expectations that we we will deliver.
Compassion, understanding and empathy are essential traits. That said, it's important to understand funeral service is not a pastoral role. Families engage us to prepare and manage an event that acknowledges their loss on a way that is meaningful to them. Funeral service is event management but with a particular subset of emotional skills given the familes we work with are bereaved. You need to recognise that there are times you will need to be a firm hand in a soft glove as you work to have all the necessary elements ready on time.
We believe that a good Funeral Director understands all facets of our business including how to embalm as this gives you confidence in dealing with the deceased. Full training will be given to the right person.
Much of what we do goes unseen. Working in the funeral industry is so much more than wearing a nice suit and greeting people at a funeral! It’s hard work and at times is a 24/7 role so flexibility with working hours is a must.
If you're ready for a change and think Funeral Service is right for you, and that you could be right for us, send us an introductory letter and current CV in strictest confidence to firstname.lastname@example.org.
