SIM Ruth Frances (nee McLaughlin)

Peacefully at Taranaki Base Hospital on Friday 30 April 2021, aged 90.

Dearly loved wife of John (deceased).

Much loved Mum of Brian and Marie, Patsy, Alan and Janet, Mark and Joan, Cath, Gill, Barbara and Pete.

Loving Nana of Angus, Henry, and Georgina; Johnny, Geoffrey, and Amanda; Sophie, and Caelan; Emily, Rosie, and Chris.

Loved daughter of Frank and Joy (both deceased). Loving sister of Brian (deceased) and Nancy; Maureen (deceased); Peter and Paula (Canada).

Special thanks to the staff at Chalmers Rest Home and Taranaki Base Hospital for their care of Ruth.

In lieu of flowers, donations to the Taranaki Resue Helicopter Trust would be welcomed and may be left at the service.

A service to celebrate Ruth’s life will be held at Eagars Te Henui Chapel, 174 Lemon Street, New Plymouth on Monday 3 May 2021 at 2pm, followed by a private cremation.

I think of you often Mrs Sim. You were a great teacher to me a few years ago (1988) at NPGHS - 6th form English. Although I never thought it useful then, snippets of Shakespeare and Rhyme of the Ancient Mariner did stay with me and are ever so helpful, especially when doing Stuff quizzes at work with your lovely daughter Cath. I'll keep an eye on her for you! Rest in peace Mrs Sim.
