What a wonderful outpouring of love for Aunty Dale throughout the service which Rosalind and watched on video, having been confined to Sydney by Covid.
Aunty Dale's farm ( with Uncle George ) was one of the Parkes sisters' homes where I was always welcomed during school hoildays and I will treasure those years and memories from such times that seem like yesterday.
Warm but direct, decisive and understanding and so willing to make allowances for growing up youngsters with a no-nonsense attitude are just some of her character attributes that I so fondly remember.
We saw each rarely over the subsequent years, ( mainly to my being overseas), and I last saw her in Ngaere walking up Finnerty Rd where Rosalind and I had tea at her home; sha was as bright as ever and just like I always remembered her.
Cheerful, caring, loving and my Aunty Dale.

I recently received the sad news Dale Walsh's passing.
It was always a delight talking with her.
A more kinder, gentler person you never meet. A real lady.
Dale had a wonderful sense of humor.
I always came away with a simle after talking with her.
My condolences to her family. I'll always have fond memories of my time in New Zealand thanks to likes of her. Rest in peace "Dub".

Respectfully,

Wes Stevens
