I highly recommend the outstanding services provided to my family by Eagars Funeral Services, New Plymouth.
When Mum was diagnosed with metastatic cancer in June this year, and given a poor prognosis of weeks to months to live, she decided to face this situation head on, she wanted to be actively involved in the planning of her funeral, and she wanted to meet and feel comfortable with the funeral directors that would care for her when she died. So we set out to visit and insp...ect all of the funeral homes in New Plymouth.
The decision to use Eagars Funeral Services over any of the other funeral homes was an easy one to make. We were all won over by the level of compassion, care, respect and professionalism shown to Mum and to us by Richard, Casey and their dedicated team.
Eagars facilities are also outstanding and are set in a quite special tranquil tree lined location, with an elegant funeral home building and their stunning Te Henui Chapel.
Richard was our funeral director and from the start to the finish we felt comfort and trust in him to handle all aspects of Mums care and her funeral service. His ability to focus on what is important to his clients was much appreciated, nothing was too much trouble and we were absolutely impressed with the way everything was handled.
This was the perfect location, and we had the perfect funeral director to help us celebrate our Mums life and to say farewell. Thank you.

Just been to Jean Ridings funeral service. We must congratulate you on your magnificent complex there. It shows a lot of thought has gone into it. A building that's different to the normal and a reminder that dying does not have to be a gloomy occasion. At last a screen thats not distorted by outside light and therefore was clearly visible to the viewer..Well done. At nearly 81 I've been to a few funerals and I rate this venue No.1. Lovely setting. We really appreciated the time and care provided by the team at Eagars when dealing with the death of our much loved Poppa.
They guided us through this difficult time very gently and with a great deal of care and attention to detail to make sure everyone's needs were considered. Like all families, we have a range of needs and requirements, and literally nothing was too much for them to organise.
And what I really appreciated was even though there were a few "impromptu" addi...tions to the service, they just accommodated, and no-one felt it was a burden.
Everything was clearly documented and we knew up front what the costs would be. They also provided a full range of extra products and services for us to consider. We didn't go with everything, but we knew what was available to us.
We are all very grateful for the wonderful care their family gave ours! Andrea & David Leadbetter 2016
To team Eagar.
Thank you so much for providing our family the care, compassion and advice when we really needed it. Nothing was too much trouble, you had all the answers and provided a complete and professional service. It was so much easier to deal with our grief when we knew everything would be taken care of. Thank you so much for all you did for the Bell family.

Our father passed away last week, 10 months after our mother.
Both were the hard, wrenching, grief filled occasions that anyone can sadly imagine.
Graham was our funeral director for both, and I would most definitely add a friend at these grim times.
Its difficult to list all the many things, the attentions to detail, he helped and supported our clan through, they were many.
From letting us drive the hearse to the cemetery, to taking care of a bored young child during the service he provided all the support required and his training at our Mothers death made our Fathers passing so much easier.
I unreservedly recommend him, as would our whole family.
Although professionally I'm in no hurry to meet him again, I know that as the generations cycle through life it would be him I would go to again in our extended clans darkest hours.
